THE 1 PERSON SPORTSUB SOLO
The 1 person SportSub Solo is our new single person Sub designed as a yacht toy.
The pilot rides inside the body of the sub with their head inside the air pocket of the top mounted dome. SportSub Solo uses two thrusters like a traditional SportSub, providing excellent control and maneuverability allowing the sub to rotate in it's own length, hover, and fly straight up and down, just like a helicopter. SportSub Solo has our most powerful thrusters which results in a SportSub with the highest thrust-to-weight ratio of any sub we have built. And for added control, the Auto-Depth Control system can be added.
SportSub Solo weighs 150 pounds, comes standard with a complete set of all accessories necessary to operate it, but without the scuba tank for the air supply, dive computer, compass, or battery charger to recharge the batteries. Optional equipment such as Lights, Ultrasonic Communications, Expanded Air Supply systems, Auto Depth Control system with Auto-Hover and Auto-Target can all be added to make SportSub Solo operations even more sophisticated. Ideally these options are specified at the time of manufacture but it is possible to retrofit a basic model with options.
All SportSub models put safety first and come equipped with numerous backup systems. SportSub Solo is designed to be operated with slight positive buoyancy so if the pilot has a problem, or gets confused, the sub will float up to the surface. SportSub Solo allows the operator to exit the sub and swim to the surface if needed. SportSub Solo can have a float mounted via a tether so depth can be limited, and so the sub's location can be observed. SportSub Solo is designed to be operated to a maximum depth of 10m (30'), and a dive time of up to 1 hour.
